持ちタイルから単語を作り、それを盤面に並んだ単語とクロスさせて競うワードゲームScrabble（スクラブル）では、使う言葉を制限する必要があり、何々に載っていない言葉はダメ、という具合に通常辞書に審判を頼みます。
　ただ、オンラインスクラブルとして人気のあるWords With Friendsの場合、世界各地の人々が参加している関係上、見たこともないような新語が次々と承認されてはプレイヤーを驚かせます。

最近、ある人が打ち込んできたBOKEH「ボウケイ」もそのひとつで、まさかと思って検索すると、この語源を含む説明がいくつかの辞典に次のように載っています。日本語が語源の写真撮影テクニック用語でした。BOKEHも捨てたものではありませんね。

Origin:
1990s from Japanese boke, apparently shortened from pinboke ‘state of being out of focus’, from bokeru ‘become befuddled’.

This lens produces that nice bokeh in the background that looks great in portraits.

MERRIAM-WEBSTER ONLINE:
