これは結構訳すのに手を焼く言葉です。ただ、日常、動詞として、探し物をするときに
　　I think I misplaced my wallet.
　　I misplaced my key.
のように大変よく使われます。

　misunderstandが「誤解する」だからといって「誤置する」とするわけにもいかず。「置き違える」も違う。「置く場所を誤る」？　そんなに誤らなくてもよいでしょう。
　というわけで、和英とも家庭や職場の日常で学んだ自分の腑にスッと落ちるのが
　　「財布/キーをどこかに置いちゃったみたい」
　これは東京弁なのか。ネットにヒット数は少ないが、あまり言わないのかな。各弁でどのようにいうのか、これは興味あるなあ。しっくり来ないものがスッキリすると何事も楽しいものですが。

今日の”楽習”のタイトル
　　Misplaced Wallet
には形容詞としてのmisplacedがあって、これにも手を焼く語だが、
　　 「見つからない財布」
に落ち着きました。

それにしても何かが見つからないときにHave you seen my－　と尋ねたとたんに見つかるということが多い。見つからないことも増えてゆく。

これは「体感気温」を指し、

　　It doesn’t fell like 25 degrees. It feels like 30 or over.
といった言い回しの”feels like”（のように感じる）をtemperatureの前に
　　”feels like” temperature「感じる」気温
と配したもの。ややお茶目、かなり和風。”　　”を外せば、やや落ち着いた印象になる。
　　take-home pay 「手取り」　
　　go-to guy 「頼りになる人」
はtake-homeやgo-toのイメージとしての主語がＩやYouを取るのでtakes-home、goes-to guyにはならない。一方feels like temperatureを
　　feel-like temperature
としないのはイメージする主語がItだからです。

例えば
The feels like temperature today is 40. Don’t go walking.
The “feels like” temperature today is minus 10. Bundle up.
のように使います。

「感じる」気温は、周囲の気温、相対湿度、風力といった環境データに基づき、天気の状況が素肌にどう感じられるかを割り出したもの。

ただ体感気温さえも？であると感じたときには、まだひとつ

前回の大統領選挙でロシアの介入があったという報告がなされ国中が騒然としている。ニュース番組ではたとえば次のような言い回しをよく聞く。
Multiple actors are suspected to be involved.
これは複数の俳優の関与が疑われているわけではなく、「複数の当事者/関係者の関与が疑われている」ということで、組織も含まれる。

メリル･ストリープは（以外にも多くの「女優」が）I’m an actor.と言う。女性の俳優がわざわざ女性であることを強調するactressを使わない流れができている。ただaward for best actress/actorの区分けがあったほうが便利でしょう。

All the world’s a stage and all the men and women merely players.というシェイクスピアの言葉のplayerは、政治や経済面で重要な役割を果たす人物を意味することもある。actorはそこまで”華やかな”意味合いはなく、やはり政治や経済の世界での関与者/当事者という意味で広く使われている。

ちなみに小生が世界で一番好きな唱歌は読まずに食べては繰り返す「やぎさんゆうびん」。紙をもおそれぬ永遠なる食欲とコミュニケーション。loop という形式である。その内容を伝えたいなら一例を

英語にこんな歌があった。

昔、人形遣いのシャリ・ルイスショーで唄われたThe Song that Never Endsで、マーチ形式で威勢がよい。ある微笑ましきコメント：

長いトンネルを抜けて返り咲いた虎さん。

正直すぎのオンライン何でもござれの直訳ボックスが「過去からの爆風」と訳してくれる。うむ、今回はなかなか良いです。a blast from the pastは、忘れていたものがいきなりワッと現れるイメージ。ああこれ懐かしい！　これすっかり忘れてた！という感じ。

Talk about a blast from the past. 過去からの爆風とはこのことだね。

A blast from the past, right?　すっかり忘れていたでしょう？

などと訳は適宜。
